🎨 Summer creativity is in full swing at Art House!

Whether your child loves painting, pottery, sketching, building, or exploring new art techniques, we have something for every young artist this summer.

From drop-in art classes and downtown sketching adventures to pottery, teen workshops, and adult classes, there are plenty of opportunities to create, learn, and be inspired.

✨ Featured Upcoming Workshop:
3-D Collage Shadow Boxes
Ages 12–17
July 13–16 | 1:30–3:00 PM

Students will transform ordinary images into layered works of art with depth, dimension, and storytelling.

We also have drop-in classes available throughout the week for ages 5–15, making it easy to fit creativity into your summer schedule.

And for the grown-ups? Join us for Intro to the Wheel and experience the fun of creating with clay.

Spots are limited in many classes, so be sure to register early!

🎨✨ The first week of Art House Summer Camp is officially in the books!

What a week it has been. From painting and drawing to exploring downtown, creating outdoors, and making new friends, our campers filled the studio with creativity, curiosity, and lots of laughter.

One of our favorite moments? Seeing this week’s artwork go up on the walls. There’s something special about watching students step back and proudly admire what they’ve created.

We are so thankful for an amazing first week and can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings.

Many of you have asked why we chose to move Art House downtown.

This is why. 🎨

On a beautiful morning during Art Camp, our students spread out their sketchbooks in front of Tryon Palace and spent time slowing down, observing, and creating from life. Within just a few blocks of our studio, we have access to historic architecture, gardens, museums, public art, local businesses, and endless inspiration.

Downtown becomes an extension of our classroom.

We want your child to experience art beyond four walls—to notice details, ask questions, explore their community, and discover inspiration in the world around them.

A place for kids to create and explore.

Today it was sketching at Tryon Palace. Tomorrow it might be painting in the park, studying historic architecture, watching the afternoon light dance across the river, or discovering inspiration in places we’ve passed a hundred times before. Downtown gives our students a living, ever-changing classroom filled with opportunities to observe, explore, and create.

This is why we moved.

🎨✨ Day One at our new Art House home is officially in the books!

Today was filled with creativity, excitement, familiar faces, and a whole lot of smiles. Seeing students walk through the doors and make themselves at home in this new space reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

The move may be complete, but the best part is just beginning.

Thank you to every family who has supported Art House through this transition, shared encouraging words, helped spread the news, and trusted us with your child’s creative journey. Your support has meant the world.

We can’t wait to fill these walls with artwork, imagination, laughter, and the confidence that grows when kids are given the freedom to create.

🎨✨ One last dance in a room filled with creativity.

The walls are freshly painted. The paint splatters have been scrubbed from the floors. The shelves are empty. The easels are packed.

For years, this space was home to countless paintings, pottery projects, sewing creations, messy experiments, big ideas, and growing confidence. Every splash of paint on the floor told a story of a child creating something uniquely their own.

Today we’re closing this chapter, but not the story.

As we get ready to open our new Art House home on June 1st, we’re carrying all of those memories, friendships, and creative adventures with us. And yes… before we handed over the keys, there may have been one final dance party in the empty studio. 💙

Thank you to every family, student, and teacher who helped make this space so special.

Here’s to new beginnings, fresh walls, and many more masterpieces to come.

The North Carolina Plein Air Art Festival Youth Art Exhibition has been such a special experience for our young artists 🎨🌿

Art House was proud to help sponsor this exhibition alongside Seeds of Art Nonprofit, giving kids the opportunity to create, explore, and see their work displayed publicly as part of the festival.

From learning outdoors with local artists to seeing their paintings hanging at the New Bern Farmers Market, this experience helped build confidence, creativity, and connection through art.

You can still stop by and view the exhibition through tomorrow afternoon at the New Bern Farmers Market!

A new chapter is beginning for Art House. ✨

As we close the door on our old studio, we’re filled with gratitude for every class, project, messy masterpiece, and memory that happened there. Now we’re looking ahead with excitement as we continue building a space where creativity, community, and confidence can grow.

We can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds for Art House — and for you and your child. 🎨

Our Monday sewing class designed these from scratch — creating their own patterns, hand stitching details, and learning to use the sewing machine along the way.
