Immediate Opening: Social Media Assistant
Part-Time Position
Compensation: $25 per hour
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per month (about 5 hours per week)
The Social Media Assistant supports the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra’s digital marketing efforts by helping create engaging content, grow online audiences, and promote concerts and special events across social media platforms.
Responsibilities
Manage and post content on Facebook and Instagram.
Assist with paid advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram.
Draft social media copy based on content and direction provided by the supervisor.
Develop and maintain a social media content calendar for review and approval by the supervisor.
Attend several NBSO concerts and/or rehearsals, and other events to support pre-concert activities, capture photos and video, and create timely social media content, including posts, stories, and photo albums.
Collaborate with the supervisor and Music Director to develop and produce creative promotional videos that increase audience engagement and concert awareness.
Monitor social media activity and assist with audience engagement as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong written communication skills and ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and social media best practices.
Basic photography and smartphone video skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a content calendar.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for concerts and events.
Interest in the performing arts and live events preferred.
