Celebrate the diversity, energy, and emotion of American music! NBSO Concertmaster Emma Powell kicks things off, literally, with John Corigliano’s sassy STOMP for solo violin. Then travel through Peter Schickele’s nostalgic American Dreams, the electric energy of Missy Mazzoli’s "Lies You Can Believe In", and the lush, romantic intensity of Amy Beach’s Piano Quintet.

Festive, bold, surprising, and unmistakably American, it’s the perfect way to start the season!

🎻Less than two weeks away from a beautiful evening of music! Join us September 13th from 3-4pm at The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum!

🌸The performance happens under the 19th century pergola, in the garden, weather allowing. Otherwise, the concert occurs under the tent. Bring a blanket and picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawn, or sit in the provided seating.!

First, relax and enjoy a 10-minute performance by NBSO flute trio Tim Macri, Caitlyn Schmidt, and Krysten Moore. Then comes the fun part: you’re the conductor. Pick up the baton, step in front of the musicians, and see what it feels like to bring the music to life.

No musical experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to have some fun.
