Lucky number 7! 🎉

The 7th edition of Fabric Arts Festival returns October 8–11, bringing artists, ideas, and creativity to Fall River, New Bedford, and Providence.

This year's festival explores how cultures are shaped through the movement of people, ideas, memories, and everyday traditions, creating meaningful connections between local and international artists through exhibitions, performances, collaborations, and new commissions.

As part of an 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗲-𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟬𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟬𝘀, the festival is seeking community members willing to share stories, memories, and personal archives that help preserve this important chapter of our region's history.

The project is seeking:

📷 Family photographs
📼 VHS tapes and home movies
🎶 Bands and musical groups
💃 Festas, dances, and community celebrations
⛪ Espírito Santo feasts and religious festivals
🏛️ Portuguese clubs and community halls
📻 Portuguese radio and television programs
❤️ Everyday life, family traditions, and personal memories

Whether you have a box of old photos, a stack of tapes, or stories passed down through generations, your memories can help tell the story of Portuguese-American life in Fall River and beyond.

What an exciting and special 10 days it has been. 🎨✨

ArtWeek SouthCoast 2026 brought together over 100 events across 15 cities and towns, spanning more than 70 venues throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and beyond. From galleries, theaters, studios, and museums to sidewalks, parks, storefronts, and waterfronts, hundreds of people came together to celebrate the incredible creative pulse of this region.

People made new friends, visited new places, discovered new artists and creative organizations, and experienced firsthand how arts and culture help strengthen communities, spark connection, and bring energy and life to the places we call home.

This year’s festival was also our biggest and most expansive yet, including the addition of the New Voices, New Places grant program, which helped welcome new communities, new organizers, and many first-time participants into the ArtWeek SouthCoast family.

To every artist, performer, musician, maker, organizer, venue, volunteer, sponsor, and community partner who participated: thank you for sharing your talent, passion, and creativity with the region.

And to everyone who attended an event, bought a ticket, supported a local artist, tried something new, or encouraged others to explore the arts: thank you for showing up and helping make this celebration so meaningful.

Art lives here. And after these past 10 days, that has never felt more true.

We already can’t wait for next year. 💫
