A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol Audition Notice
The Theatre Department at Indiana University Southeast will hold OPEN AUDITIONS for the Fall 2026 production of A 1940S RADIO CHRISTMAS CAROL by Walton Jones, David Wohl, and Faye Greenberg (Book by David Bennett Wohl) on Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4, 2026, from 7 -9 p.m. Those auditioning need to attend only one of the two dates, plus the callback date, if invited.) Invited callback auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 7 p.m.
We are looking to fill 6 male character roles, presenting from age 18 to 70 and 4 female roles, presenting from age 18 to mid-30s.
Auditions will take place at the Ogle Center, room 069 in the Paul W. Ogle Cultural & Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Park in the Hickory Lot just off Scenic Drive for best access.
Auditions are open to anyone 18 years of age or over, including IU Southeast students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
Those auditioning will present 16-32 bars of any song, acapella or accompaniment played via personal Bluetooth device. Materials will be provided for cold readings. Headshots/resumes are welcome but not required. An audition packets may be completed on location or in advance by sending a request to [email protected]
Performance dates for the production are: 11/20-22/2026 and 12/4-6/2026 for a total of 7 performances. Each Friday performance dates will have a 10 am and 7 pm shows. The production will be directed by Nicholas Hulstine with musical direction by Michael Catron.
