On Wednesday, September 9th the Cultural Arts Center will be inviting retired Engineer and Science Teacher Bob Rollings to give an insightful presentation on the tragic events of September 11th through the lens of engineering. From 5:30-6:45 PM, Rollings will use his expertise to shed light on how the buildings responded to extreme forces, how structural systems behaved under extraordinary conditions, and what engineers have learned from studying the event.

Stories and Art with Ms Ashley
Mondays from 10:30-11:30 AM
Preschoolers ages 3-5 get to hear a story and take home an art activity kit!

Baby's Afternoon Out
Wednesdays from 1-2 PM
A story time for caregivers of babies ages 0-23 months encouraging early literacy, language development, and bonding

Tails & Tales with Mia the Therapy Dog
One Saturday per month from 11 AM - 12 PM
Bring a book or choose one from our collection to read to Mia!

We had a great time learning the basics of Mural Making with REDEMPTION artist Jaylin Stewart last week! Patrons were introduced to Stewart's process in Part One of our workshop before projecting and collaboratively painting their work in Part Two. Come join us this Saturday on 8/15 from 2-4 PM for another Exquisite Drawing Workshop!
Inspired by the Exquisite Co**se game invented by the Surrealists of the 1920's, we'll fold a piece of paper into sections and add a head, torso, or legs of a figure without seeing what others have created, at the end of the workshop we'll unfold our papers and unveil our creations, like these great samples from workshop one!

Refine your observational drawing skills with a Figure Drawing class on Saturday, August 29th!
From 2-4 PM patrons will explore movement, anatomy, and proportion beginning with quick gesture drawings before transitioning into longer poses allowing for more detailed study. This class is intended adults with prior drawing experience, materials will be provided but patrons are invited to bring their own supplies too!
