Theatre Lovers, join us on Thursday, June 25th for a whirlwind adaption of William Shakespeare's famous play, The Tempest: Two Actor Tour! Performed by just two actors and brought to you by our friends from Kentucky Shakespeare, this fast-paced production will sweep patrons into a world of magical mischief, mistaken motives, and powerful lessons about human connection. Come join us during the fourth week of June for a Two-Part Workshop led by REDEMPTION artist Jaylin Stewart! During this workshop, patrons will learn to make their own resin Lip sculptures or a resin keychain inspired by Jaylin's installation piece, "Soft Threat".
Part 1 will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd from 2-3 PM, where patrons will learn the basics of resin safety procedures and experiment with materials, and leave their work to cure before completing their pieces during Part 2 on Thursday, June 25th from 4-5 PM! We do ask patrons to register for both parts of the class.

Pick up a kit to learn to make art like REDEMPTION artist Jaylin Stewart when you visit the Cultural Arts Center for this year's Cultural Pass! Patrons can take home a set of activity sheets by Jaylin and learn all about her alter ego Monet' the Doll AKA Ne' Ne', as well as a bubble wand, a set of crayons and a mini-sketch book, and an insert about the exhibit. We had a great turnout for our first Meet & Make workshop for June! This month, we're learning the basics of cyanotype printing every Monday from 3-6 PM! Join us each week as we learn the history of this unique solar-powered printmaking process and make your own prints with pre-treated papers and a collection of curious objects provided by the Cultural Arts Center!

We're so grateful to everyone who was able to join us for the Opening Reception of our newest exhibition REDEMPTION, a solo exhibit by Jaylin Stewart! REDEMPTION features a selection of works by Stewart celebrating family and communal spaces. If you weren't able to join, us there's still plenty of time for a visit! REDEMPTION is open through October 17th, come visit us Monday through Saturday this Summer and Fall to experience Jaylin's work!

We will find out the winner together on August 5th. While you're here, enjoy our Tinkerspace and view our current exhibitions. We're open Mon-Thurs 10-7, and Fri & Sat 10-5. In just two days, we’ll be unveiling our next exhibit REDEMPTION, featuring the artwork of Jaylin Stewart!
Jaylin already has a special place in our Floyd County Library family’s history, having painted the murals that adorn the Central Library branch’s annex building in 2020. Be sure to join us this Friday, May 22nd for our Opening Reception from 5-8 PM to see even more of Jaylin’s large scale murals, portraits and installations! REDEMPTION will be on display through October 17th.
