Bourne - Schweitzer Gallery Bourne - Schweitzer Gallery is a collaborative gallery. Julie Schweitzer and James Bourne own and operate the space. He bought the building at 137 East Main St.

The gallery features original work by contemporary artists. Jim Bourne retired from practicing law in 2010 and began studying oil painting. in New Albany to use as a retirement office andpainting studio. He opened the James Bourne Gallery in that space in July of 2017. Julie Schweitzer has been actively involved in the development of the regional arts community for over 30 years. She has helped to

create, administer, and served as executive director and on the board of multiple arts organizations. In 2017 she left the nonprofit sector and opened ArtSeed. In 2020, Bourne and Schweitzer decided to collaborate to form Bourne- Schweitzer Gallery and opened their first exhibit in January 2020 featuring Contemporary Fine Art. The gallery represents artists on a regional, national and international level. In the summer of 2020, Bourne - Schweitzer will launch an outdoor event and popup gallery space. Julie Schweitzer and ArtSeed will continue to offer grant writing, education, and corporate and community programs.
