🏆 EVERY FUTURE CHAMPION STARTS SOMEWHERE.

The NBRA was built to create opportunities for competitors at every stage of their journey.

Our 1S Sled Roping class gives new ropers a place to develop timing, build confidence, learn how to compete, and get valuable reps in a real event atmosphere—all while earning points toward district, state, and national standings.

For those taking their very first steps into the sport, our 1D Dummy Roping class provides another opportunity to compete, learn, and begin working their way forward.

Many of our districts also offer exhibition sled runs before the competition begins. These are a great option for bringing along a green horse, warming one up, working on timing, or simply slinging a few ropes before the points classes begin.

To the little kids...
To the newcomers...
To the parents wondering if their child is "good enough"...
To the adults who've always wanted to try breakaway roping...

You belong here, even if you're just starting.

Start where you are. We'll meet you there.

History was made yesterday.

The NBRA - Mississippi District successfully hosted the very first official NBRA event, marking an important milestone for the National Breakaway Roping Association and the growth of breakaway roping across the country.

We're proud of the Mississippi team, their volunteers, sponsors, contestants, and everyone who helped make this event possible. Building something new takes hard work, and we're excited to see what the future holds for breakaway ropers throughout Mississippi and beyond.

Take a moment to read their recap, check out the photos, and help us congratulate the Mississippi District on a successful launch!

And the momentum continues tomorrow as the NBRA - Michigan hosts its very first NBRA event. If you're in the area, we encourage you to load your horse, grab your rope, and come be a part of history as another district kicks off its inaugural season. Best of luck to our Michigan team—we can't wait to see how it goes!

While all districts follow the same NBRA rules, classifications, points structure, and sanctioning requirements, every event will naturally have its own unique feel based on factors such as the arena, stock contractor, producer, officials, photographers, sponsors, and local leadership. Our goal is to provide a consistent competitive framework nationwide while allowing districts the flexibility to showcase the strengths of their local breakaway roping community.

🚨 MORE OPPORTUNITIES. MORE POINTS. MORE FINALS. 🚨

The NBRA is continuing to grow and improve, and we're excited to announce an important update that gives our members even more opportunities to compete and earn points.

Members are no longer limited to earning points in only one district.

You can now compete in ANY NBRA Official Event, in ANY district, and earn points in that district while also earning National Points at the same time.

More districts are coming soon!

What does that mean?

✅ Rope in multiple districts.

✅ Earn points in multiple districts.

✅ Qualify for multiple District Finals.

✅ Qualify for multiple State Finals.

✅ Earn National Points at every event you attend.

✅ More opportunities to compete for money, prizes, buckles, awards, and championships.

This is especially beneficial for ropers who spend part of the year in one state and part of the year in another. Whether you winter in Florida and summer in Michigan, travel for work, or simply enjoy competing across state lines, you'll now have the opportunity to build points wherever you compete.

Our goal has always been simple:

Provide fair, consistent, structured opportunities for breakaway ropers of all ages while creating more places to rope and more opportunities to win.

We're building a system that rewards participation, encourages travel, supports district growth, and gives members more value for their membership.

The future of the NBRA is bright, and we're just getting started.
