I can’t think of a better way to celebrate National Day of the Cowboy Boot!!! I got home from the cattle sale today to find that my friends at Fenoglio Boot Co. hooked me up with an awesome pair of black full quill ostrich!!! They’re the only boot I wear, whether I’m announcin a rodeo, sellin cattle or a farm auction, Fenoglios are my absolute favorite boot!!!

The Smokehouse is about 99% done…just need to hang the fan and get it electrified!!! Started the brisket at midnight…This lil place is my own slice of heaven!!! Sis is out ridin one of her missle mules in the arena and the Chiefs are lookin good so far today!!! Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen for us!!!

I feel very blessed to be on this list!!! We’ve had a great run of rodeos this season and can’t wait till the 1st weekend of November to be back on the announcers stand with my pal Charlie McKellips for the 2026 United Rodeo Association Finals!!!

As I sit here at the airport waitin on a flight to Tennessee for an auctioneer contest tomorrow, I want to say thank you to the Iowa Rodeo Cowboys Association BoD for havin Joey McDonough and me at the 50th IRCA Finals this weekend…even though Mother Nature wasn’t very nice to us, everybody still showed up n showed out!!! And we had a pretty dang good finals in spite of the conditions…I also want to say congrats to my boy Lonny Higgins, aka the Round Mound of Sound, for his first finals as a music director!!! And to make this weekend even better, we found out on the way home that I was selected to announce the United Rodeo Association Finals in November with my ol pal Charlie McKellips!!! Night #2 is Tonight!

When we bought our new place, I noticed a concrete slab that was perfect for an outdoor kitchen/man cave…we bought this bin last spring from a buddy and these past few days with the help of family and some awesome neighbors/friends we got it all up today!! We just need to run electricity to it and get some lights, a fan and a TV and we’re gonna be BBQn and rollin some smoke while watching some football this fall!!! All I can say is boys, get you a woman that’ll work just as hard to help your dreams come true as you do for hers!!! Stay Safe N Be Blessed

Where were you 25 years ago today??

I was sitting at my desk building a sale catalog...the phone rang, the person asked me if I had the TV on...I grabbed the remote and when the TV came on, the 2nd plane hit the tower...I'll never forget the emotions I had that moment...sadness for the families that lost loved ones...the anger that someone attacked our nation...fear for what could possibly happen in this country...

Here we are 25 years later, I hope this nation can unite again someday and be as strong as we were on September 12th…I would love for our kids who’ve seen nothin but division their whole lives to see that unity and love for this country and the love we had for one another right after 9/11…its time we Make America, America again...

I will NEVER forget...may God bless America now and always!!!🇺🇲

We wrapped up our regular season events last weekend with stops at the Northwest Missouri State Fair and the Amped Up Bull Riding Tour last Thursday night…then we headed to the Green Castle Community Annual Labor Day Celebration with the gang from Bar H Rodeo and finished it up with the Wright Rodeo Co. at the Putnam County Fair Rodeo in Unionville on Tuesday night…We’ve been alot of miles this year and seen some beautiful country and talked about alot of rodeo in 9 states to 1000s of fans…we’ve got a week off to catch up on some projects around the house and to sell some cattle at the barns I sell at then we’ve got the IRCA Finals in Oskaloosa IA next week…here’s a few pics with some champion mutton busters from Green Castle and Unionville and some cool flicks of Rooster and I from M Squared Photography…Stay Safe N Be Blessed…
