“Horsemen of the West”, a group of twelve illustrations
By Joseph Jacinto Mora (1876-1947)

These watercolors were painted in the early 1900s by Jo Mora as magazine illustrations. They were later printed (post-1940s) as part of a give away promo series for banks and other institutions throughout the Southwest.

Great little card suit bit in unused condition with sterling silver inlay, by The Old Spanish Trading Company. This beautiful bit has a low curb sweet iron mouthpiece 5 1/4” wide, wrapped with copper wire. Beautiful little bit that is perfect for using!! Shown in second and third photos with horsehair curb strap and rein chains. Asking 525.

A modern example of an old style globe or grazer bit. This bit features a large sterling silver flower with cutouts. At the center of the flower are red ruby stones. The mouthpiece is the #1 traditional spade mouthpiece 5 1/8” wide (shown in the second photo) with copper barrels on the braces. This is an original OST design that you won’t find anywhere else! When a bit is not just a bit, it’s a work of art.

This one is inspired by a very old traditional California pattern by GS Garcia. Each cheek piece has a large 3.25” sterling silver concho done with pretty single point engraving.

Shown in the rust brown finish on the iron to give the bit an overall aged and classic look. The mouthpiece is a 5 1/8” wide half breed with a cricket. An exclusive design by The Old Spanish Trading Company. Asking 695.

Early 1900s hand forged Mexican bit with sterling silver horse heads encircled by a horseshoe on each cheek. Greek key pattern inlaid silver decorates the shanks. Cheeks measure 7” with a 4 3/4” wide mouth. In excellent condition. Asking 245.

A special and one of a kind design seashell snaffle bit made by The Old Spanish Trading Co. Each cheek piece has large sterling silver scallop seashells made from our very own hand carved dies. Each seashell is surrounded by 34 sterling silver dots. The mouthpiece is a 5 1/4” wide dogbone snaffle mouthpiece with a copper center link. This bit goes perfectly with our sterling silver Las Conchas loop back conchos shown surrounding the bit.

A Santa Barbara cheek bit based on one of the oldest and most classic early 1900s California patterns by Juan Estrada. With sterling silver inlay and old style single point engraving. 5 1/4” wide #17 medium port mouthpiece with a nice cricket and copper inlay on the cannon bar. Marked with my brand OST.
