Congratulations Victory Baptist Church in Thorp on your new Estonia grand!

This very nice group of people have dealt with some "not so nice" pianos in the past - I've even been keeping a lookout for an upgrade for them. They found this beauty all on their own and decided to go big or go home - it needed a pitch raise and fine tuning but it sure looks and sounds like a winner to me. It was a joy to work on this last night. Thanks for having me out!

I really dislike the design of these piano covers! Instead of a horizontal hinge on the back of the piano that flips up...

I really dislike the design of these piano covers! Instead of a horizontal hinge on the back of the piano that flips up (nice and easy), some lids have the hinge on the side, so you either have to remove the hinge pins (which are often bent) or try to prop it up some way - but it's such a long piece of wood that it often hits the ceiling.

Today I lucked out! The homeowners ceilings were quite high, AND there was this handy dandy piece of wood trim from the stair rail above that the lid perfectly rested on - crisis averted!

A note to other Piano Techs who follow me...

I got a call and met with Jeremy Neff from Neff's Piano on Water Street in Eau Claire. He has sold the store to an outside interest and is selling much of his inventory and looking to retire (or try to!) - piano moving equipment, piano tippers, rebuilding supplies, tools, actual piano projects, etc. etc. he is trying to sell at a very discounted price.

He would also like to find the right individual to step in and take over the business as the new owner is interested in keeping the space a piano shop and a rebuilding/repair/tuning source.

This could be a great opportunity for the right individual. He wanted me to get the word out on my FB page.

Anyway, I'm sure Jeremy would love to liquidate some of his vast inventory of piano related "stuff". It was great to sit down with him and talk shop with a local piano legend! I wish him luck in his next endeavor in life.

I was able to help find the Loyal UMC this very nice Kimball baby grand! A monetary donation was giving by family members having a funeral at the church, and the Pastor enlisted my help.

Found this on Craigslist and went and looked at it and it was in good working order and nice to look at too! The price of the piano was exactly the same amount as the donation - like it was meant to be!
