Just finished this one!

When I painted this I was feeling turbulence...I had felt a little anxious and uneasy for a few days, the day was stormy, it just felt like big changes were imminent. Throughout the painting, I kept tapping in to those emotions.

I had in mind the feeling of autumn when I painted this. This ended up being one of my very favorites. I love the way the oil and cold wax interacted with texture of the canvas panel.  And the colors so speak to me. There's a delicacy of the lines, marks in this painting that I just love.

This is an intuitive painting, using leftover paint and adding many layers over time, letting my intuition guide me. This is a favorite of mine at this point.

This was a very different exploration of using different types of masking in an abstract. I loved the process. Although it is more exacting than I usually do, it was very meditative, and involved lots of detail work and several layers. Very different for me, however I loved it!

Layering with oil and cold wax medium, using colors I love, and then scratching into the painting...this felt like the color and texture of rusting metal.

I took some better pics today. Made a few changes to this one.

I applied crackle paste and fiber paste for texture on the wood panel before I painted on it. I had to rub in the first layers of very transparent cold wax to fill in the texture, as I didn't want white bumps showing through. I loved working on this one. The colors and the layers felt so rich to me....
