Manzanita Art Club

Manzanita Art Club Please join us weekly for visual and performing arts classes with miss Annie. Classes will be held at NCRD Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Supplies will be provided!

We will explore watercolor painting, charcoal drawing, ceramics, print making and much more!!! Annie Naranjo-Rivera is originally from Minneapolis, MN, a city with a vibrant art, theater and dance community. She grew up very involved in visual arts, dance, and the performing arts from a young age and had many opportunities to participate in the arts. Annie began working as an intern at a professio

nal Children's Theater as a stage manager at the age of 14, and fell in love with the theater. Since then she has directed numerous children's musicals and plays, done costume design, set and prop design, light design, choreography, visual arts classes and taught voice lessons. Annie attended Lewis and Clark College, in Portland, OR where she studied Theater and Political Science. After college, Annie moved to the Manzanita area (about 15 years ago), where she lives with her wonderful children and partner. In Manzanita, Annie has been involved in building appreciation for the arts. She believes that every child deserves the same opportunities to have high quality art, dance and theater programs that she had. Whether it is teaching art in the local schools, serving on the Board of Directors for the Hoffman Center, grant writing to secure arts funding, or finger paining with preschoolers, you can find her working hard towards this goal.
