I happened upon this classic video of Steve the other night and thought - we ALL need to see this again! Love and miss you, buddy 💛

You guys know that I’m nothing if not obsessed with our cats’ bathroom habits (sorry not sorry). So I was really excited to try the new PuroBot Max Pro 2 from Petkitofficial ! Safety is one of the first things I look at when evaluating an automatic litterbox, and this one has a great anti-pinch design to keep the entrance accessible during cleaning. It also has a really great camera IN the box so that I can monitor who used it, when, what they did (!) and exactly what is going on. Our cats are enjoying focus group testing their new box :)

You guys know how rarely I post on the grid anymore, and this isn’t even content of our cats, but I found this amazing clip of young foxes playing tonight on my wildlife cameras!!! Play is so underdiscussed and understudied in the animal behavior world (when I was in grad school people actively made fun of researchers with that area of interest) and yet we all see it happen in our own backyards. I was so moved to see these foxes enjoying their lives, relaxing with each other and having FUN, and I’m so grateful that they come by on our property almost every night! This post is corny, but I’m not sorry! Thank you, foxes, for keeping it real (and not letting that go wrong) .

Out of our 15 cats, Gene is definitely the most accomplished pole dancer. Can you name any of the tricks / poses you see him demonstrating here? Shout out to our pole teacher Jessica Miclon who we mention at the end lol .

Hi, I’m Gene! I’m 4 years old, I’m gay, and I have arthritis! If you want 10% off this great therapeutic cat bed, use code CATTITUDE but no pressure I don’t have any money (just hip probs). I’m also always on the lookout for new boyfriends who may or may not also have joint issues, so if you know of any please keep me posted. Until then, I’ll be watching chipmunks from my Knead Cats heated bed. Later! .

Today marks 3 years since Steve passed. This video came up in my memories on TikTok and I’m posting it so that we can all remember the beautiful, amazing and unforgettable soul that was Steve B. Steve, I will love you and miss you forever. SNUGGLE. (Ps shout out to emilie for being the best catsitter ever)

Meet Benny & June!

A few weeks ago I got a message about a tiny kitten behind a local farm.

There were two.

Both were severely underweight, dehydrated, and suffering from devastating eye infections. June required hospitalization, and we’ve spent the past weeks bottle feeding, administering medications, making emergency vet trips, and doing everything possible to save them.

Yesterday we received the best news yet: after seeing a veterinary ophthalmologist, both kittens were diagnosed with corneal ulcers - but the specialist believes they should make a full recovery.

We’re so incredibly grateful!!!

If you’d like to help with their emergency veterinary care, medications, specialist visits, vaccinations, microchips, and future spay/neuter surgeries, we’ve created a PayPal fundraiser. The link is in my bio.

And if you can’t donate, sharing their story also helps! Please remember to keep up with your cat’s FVRCP vaccination and to always spay and neuter your pets :)
