Joe's Bowls

Joe's Bowls I make wooden art on a lathe! I’m Joe Paul from Natural Bridge Station, Va. I was born in Prentice, Wisconsin and moved to Virginia in 1986 at age 5.

I’ve been turning wooden bowls on a lathe since 2000. I seemed to have a natural talent for it and everyone really liked my pieces. I enjoyed keeping a dying art alive, so I’ve been making bowls ever since! I make vases, wooden mushrooms, pens, pencils, wine stoppers, letter openers, trinket boxes, pen holders, platters, and pretty much anything you can request! I use a 1986 Powermatic lathe and u

se a variety of woods, including red bud, dogwood, ash, hickory, elm, locust, cherry, poplar, oaks of all species, osage, maple, walnut, cedar, mulberry and more! When I’m not turning bowls, I work in my fire wood business and have a blast playing with my almost-5-year-old daughter, Ellie!

So I was asked to make a vase for someone, we did not negotiate a price at the time of commission... well $150 I asked for was preposterous, "I was hoping for $40 range"... "Sorry... I dont make $40 vases, maybe $40 pencil holders" I love all my customers and I think I treat them more then fair.. I would think you love me back! This is for sale for $150, any takers?
