Well… unfortunately, someone apparently thought our machine was scrap.
Instead of simply knocking on our door and asking, he spent quite a bit of time taking the machine apart piece by piece — cutting wires and everything — and loading the parts into his truck.
When we came outside at the end of the day to bring everything back in… there he was.
We were honestly in shock. We talked to him, he apologized, and thankfully nobody was hurt. At this point, there’s not much we can do other than talk with our insurance company and move forward.
The machine is completely out of commission. And I have to give him credit — he did an AMAZING job dismantling it. Wires cut, parts removed… there’s no putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. 😂😂
For our artists: greeting card turnaround times will unfortunately be a little longer because we now have to send out the scoring portion of those jobs.
After being pretty pi**ed off initially, I finally had to laugh.
I’ve been telling the universe I wanted to get rid of this machine.
Apparently I needed to be more specific. 😂
I meant SELL IT.
It was still worth around $6,000!
Definitely one of the stranger days we’ve had around here. Just another reminder — don’t assume something is safe simply because it’s sitting right outside your own shop.
Sometimes all you can do is laugh and move forward. 😂
