“Smokin Grass”
Written by Sam Stuckey ©️ September 2026
I wrote this during the recent Nash Grass Unit tour. Woke up the morning we were headed to Colorado, ecstatic we were playing a late night set at a festival. It was also going to be the highest ever elevation I’d played at- very exciting. I knew I had to write something about the experience as a whole. In about 30 minutes, this is what came out. We ended up playing it that night, and for other shows on the tour.
Please forgive my lack of singing ability on this one-I’ve been fighting some acid reflux issues with my voice lately, and this was one of those evenings.
I’ll be backing up Ojeda at Amendment 18 Speakeasy in Franklin tonight at 7-come by and listen to some of her fantastic tunes-and give this a listen!
