It's been a while, but I've got another rescued plush leaving for a new home soon! I've still got my Dino Bones BAB (her name is SUE, how do you DO), but then I somehow lucked out on another. All clean and ready to go have some adventures!

It's been a hot minute, hasn't it? I had to step away for a while because lots of Real Life™️ seems to overwhelm at times. I still need to finish my Ewok refresh, plus I have some new BABs, like Bugs Bunny, The Cat in The Hat, the newer BAB Bearemy, and this frog, who I found last night. The frog is such a classic cutie.

Update on the Ewoks! They were unstuffed, soaked, then washed and hung up to dry. Details are on each photo! I didn't feel this nervous about washing my Care Bears, but these old Ewoks? That did me a nerve.

Friends, it's long past time to fix these babies up properly. I found Wicket and Princess Kneesaa at Star Wars Celebration VI back in 2012. They had already been Through It™️, since I could tell that they had been loved, washed, and a little bit dryer-fried. At the time, I was able to brush them out and they were in good shape.

Then we got a roof leak that went right onto their shelf. 😭 So the plan is to remove all their old stuffing, fumigate them (probably at least twice), then give them new stuffing and a proper brushing. I've got way more experience now in fixing plushies, so let's treat these two heroes of a galaxy far, far away.

How It Started versus How It's Going: Porg Edition! (Captions on each photo btw)

I mentioned finding this little guy during a trip to Michigan back in November. The minute I found him, I thought of a friend of mine who collects them. I got him home and cleaned up, then thoroughly brushed. His fur has a neat texture to it so that it looks kind of feathery.

He cleaned up beautifully and I happened upon a perfect Santa hat for him. This precious Porg went home with my friend during a Christmas party. The best part was seeing her 3-year-old immediately find this bird, laugh, and just hug him all night. Oh my heart.

One of the craziest collabs I've seen this year has been the BABxKFC collection. I got the sleeper and the little chicken leg of course, then someone put the idea in my head about utilizing the sleepers as part of full outfits.

So now Isabelle has a little hooded shirt look with this one. Who knew that these union suits could actually open up more fashion possibilities?

Still tempted by that silly bucket costume for reasons I can't explain.

Just a couple of new friends I picked up while I was out of town for Thanksgiving. Wiley Wolf has been on my wishlist for a little while and the Porg was a surprise find! Porg is getting a total spa day when I get back home cos he's going to a friend of mine who loves these little guys. ❤️ (I thought of her immediately too.)

I'll update with restoration progress as I'm able!

Hi friends! It's been a little while because a lot of other stuff was happening. I've been on vacation this week and during my down time, I've been relearning some of my knitting skills (I didn't lose much at all!) so I can modify CPK sweater patterns to better fit BABs. It's definitely a process.

Baby yarn is the best and I'm learning how variegated colorways behave on smaller pieces. I'm also nearly ready to start a BAB-sized version of a favorite sweater a friend of mine created. It's the MST3K sweater by DrawFour Designs! (I can't tag you for some reason, but I'll fix that once I can) Thank goodness you can find little yarn in small sizes. This is much easier to handle.

I'M GONNA HAVE SO MANY LITTLE SWEATERS FROM PRACTICING 🧶

After a particularly rough Monday, I stopped at a Goodwill and found this little guy. I've only seen Soccer Bear one other time (which I also rescued), so I picked him up.

I got him in and discovered that he's got an eye injury! I'll fix that before I put him in to wash, then I think I might give him a little patch of fur around his eye. He'll technically be my first BAB custom. Wonder if I should give him new ear inserts and paw pads? Let's give this little bear a new life, right?

I'm a big softie, but at least "I can fix them!" is a healthier sentiment with plushies and clothes.

Rehab of my own fave plush is done! Isabelle has been washed, brushed and restuffed, including her hair and ears because they had gone flat. I used high loft pillow stuffing, which is super soft and what BABW typically uses in their plushies.

Her voice chip had to go, due to dying batts and the fact I couldn't wash her with it still in her paw. But she traded that for a really nice pumpkin pie scent chip, which I put in her forehead.

Isabelle is a little hard to dress since she's a touch shorter than typical BABs. I happened upon a really pretty homemade muumuu while thrifting a couple weeks ago and it's perfect for her, except for being too long. For now, she's got a rubber band underneath holding the hem up.

Here's the before and after. I'm pleased with how she cleaned up. She's really soft now and there is something about the pumpkin pie scent that's very comforting. Don't worry, I'm keeping her original ACNH outfit, but if I can make or find something similar to her other game series outfits, I'll be adding those.
