We are still trying to cope with the loss of our beautiful Kimoy Bennett who was killed in a tragic car wreck on August 12th. She was a central person in our Gallery, our Community and in our Hearts. The kind response from so many of you has been so needed.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, September 11 at 1:00 pm at her beloved Brown County Art Gallery.
One Artist Drive in Nashville.
A service will be held and a reception to follow. Attendees are also invited to a brief graveside service after at Greenlawn Cemetery which is next to the Gallery.
Her husband Adam, sons Alexander and Samuel and her mother-in-law Jeanne Bennett are asking that donations go to a special fund created by the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation.
Kimoy was our Education Director, a role she grew into, developed and funded, bringing art accessibility for children and seniors. Her work gained recognition for the Gallery as an important institution that provides far more than just beautiful things to see.
She cherished our "Make Art, Make Friends" program for seniors to bring companionship and achievement through a creative experience.
She was working to include a special program for veterans who are suffering from PTSD believing that Art can be healing .She had most of it planned and we will finish it.
The Foundation has created the "Kimoy Gordon Bennett Memorial Fund for Creative Aging' as part of our endowment to continue her work.
Checks should be made out to the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation with Kimoy Fund on the note line and mailed to the Gallery at P.O. Box 443, Nashville, In 44748 or by calling the Gallery at 812-988-4609.
If you plan to attend on the 11th, the family asks you to wear something bright and colorful to represent her glowing beauty and cheerful presence. A presence that we will never forget.
