Some days in the outdoors stay with you. 🇺🇸

This Flashback Friday, we’re looking back at the Jim Hall Warrior Hunt at Fall Creek Falls — an opportunity to bring combat-wounded veterans together for hunting, fellowship, and time in one of Tennessee’s most beautiful places.

In this video, TWRA’s Casey Mullen explains how the hunt supports veterans while helping manage wildlife populations, and our chapter liaison Mark Moore shares Music City SCI’s role in making it happen alongside our partners.

Beyond the hunt, it’s the conversations, shared laughs, and friendships that make this event so meaningful. We’re grateful to the veterans, volunteers, and partner organizations who make it possible—and we’re looking forward to coming together again for the next Warrior Hunt.

🎓 A passion for the outdoors. A step toward your future.

Music City SCI is awarding TEN $1,000 scholarships to Tennessee students who care about conservation, ethical hunting, and our outdoor heritage—and applications are open!

Enrolled in college or trade school? You may qualify if you’re a Tennessee resident and have completed a state-sponsored Hunter Education course OR hold a current Tennessee fishing license.

Apply with a 500-word essay about your passion for the outdoors and your understanding of conservation and ethics, plus a photo of yourself enjoying an outdoor activity.

Join us at Bridgestone Arena on October 13 for the Nashville Predators’ 2nd Annual Outdoorsmen Night as the Preds take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Puck drops at 7:45 p.m.!

We’ll have a Music City SCI booth—stop by, meet the chapter, and help celebrate Tennessee’s outdoor traditions and wildlife conservation.

Now THAT’S a good day on the water. 🎣

Music City SCI President Troy Nicolson and his son-in-law, Will, got the opportunity this week to spend a day chasing walleye with Captain James Bond of 007's Guide Service — and the man knows how to find them.

Beautiful weather, calm water, plenty of fish, and a whole lot learned along the way. Walleye fishing is its own game, and Captain Bond gave us a firsthand education on how it’s done.

Huge thanks to James for an incredible day, the hospitality, and for sharing a little of his knowledge with us. If you’re looking to spend a day on the water with someone who takes his craft seriously, go give 007’s Guide Service a follow.

Days like this are a pretty good reminder of why we love the outdoors in the first place — good people, new experiences, and memories made outside.
