Brown County Hour on WFHB

Brown County Hour on WFHB Community Radio from the historic artist colony of Nashville, Indiana. From the forest, to our Arts Village and cultural district, we are Brown County!

We interview artists, musicians, and local characters that make our community so interesting. The Brown County Hour comes to you from the legendary Hills o’ Brown, where the plum purple haze (the one nature herself drapes in the hills and hollers) inspires local characters, artists, and nature lovers. It’s as though the hills themselves conspired to create a beauty and a culture in the heart of In

We are saddened by the passing of our friend and longtime Brown County Radio Hour crew member, Jeff Foster.

From the very beginning of the show through 2016, Jeff was a driving force behind the engineering and production of the Brown County Radio Hour. He helped shape the sound of the program, always keeping the crew laughing, slightly off balance, and sounding their best.

Jeff had strong opinions, high standards, a quick wit, and absolutely no hesitation about letting you know when something might sound better. And more often than not, he was right. Beneath the dry humor and occasional curmudgeonly streak was a generous teacher, an incredible musician, and someone who cared deeply about the work and the people around him.

His absence will be deeply felt by all of us who had the privilege to work alongside him and call him a friend.

Our upcoming June episode of the Brown County Radio Hour will be dedicated to Jeff’s memory.

Thank you for everything, Jeff.

We are glad that so many of you liked hearing David Denman's story about his grandpa in the outhouse. We've got two more stories that he told in our Story Slam Series, and have created a page where you can hear them all.
