Indiana State Fingerstyle Guitar Festival

Indiana State Fingerstyle Guitar Festival Annual fingerstyle guitar festival in Brown County Indiana We host up to 40 fingerstyle guitar competitors at the Brown County Playhouse.

The winner of the competition will receive a hand-made Thomas Roeger Guitar valued at $4500. There is an evening concert featuring the competition winners, along with Michael Kelsey, Brian Henke, and Jack Wilson! The competition is on Saturday, July 29, 2017

We had 18 amazing musicians on our stage today! The winners of our 15th Annual Event are:
Jason Ji - 1st Place, winner of the Thomas Roeger acoustic guitar and entry to the International Competition at Walnut Valley Festival.
Braedan Handy - 2nd Place, winner of the SDC Pinecaster guitar.
Wade Papineau - 3rd Place, winner of the Gretsch Streamliner.
Peggy Welty - 4th Place tie
Brent McPike - 4th Place tie
All five received glass trophies from Lawrence Family Glass Blowers

The festival starts Friday night... and you won't want to miss it.

Join us at the Brown County Inn from 6–9 PM for the Guitar Fest Party, featuring live performances from this year's outstanding competition players before our Friday night headliner, Jack Wilson, takes the stage at 8 PM.

And when Jack wraps up, the music doesn't stop. Head over to the Corn Crib Lounge, where CPR Revival keeps the party going until 11 PM.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend Jeff Foster.

Jeff was part of our festival family for several years, lighting up the stage with his blazing classical guitar playing and captivating audiences every time he performed. This clip from 2018 begins with his arrangement of “Classical Gas,” a piece he famously performed alongside Mason Williams.

Beyond the festival, Jeff was an important part of the local and regional music community, performing, writing, recording, and producing with countless artists over the years. His influence and friendships reached far beyond Indiana, stretching from California to Croatia and all the way to little Nashville.

Jeff’s talent, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Jeff. May your memory be a comfort to all who knew and loved you.
