Plus de quatre siècles après la fondation de l'Acadie, celle-ci survit et arrive à s'épanouir en maints endroits du Cap Breton à la Louisiane en passant par le Maine. Bonne fête de l'Acadie à tous et à toutes!

The history of Acadia is not lacking in challenges in tragedies but, on August 15, we are reminded that we also have a lot to celebrate! More than four centuries after its founding, Acadia survives and flourishes in countless places from Cape Breton to Maine to Louisiana. Happy Acadian Day to all!

⭐️ FAN FRIDAY ⭐️

This time last year we were gearing up for our first ever PoutineFest - I had really no idea what to expect, but let me tell you- it was so busy, the day flew by. I couldn’t tell you a lot of details to be honest.

What I do remember? Athena’s Cantina Restaurant & Food Truck Park - the kindest, sweetest soul and her amazing little Athena brought us over some of their award winning poutine. Everyone was packing up, trying to leave, and she made a point to say hi & feed my starving staff🤣

Fast forward to Vermont. Then New Hampshire. Every event I could hear her coming to say hi & talk about the merch she was going to get - and what lafufu 🥰

I can’t wait for this year to see what they have in store - thank you my #1 Lafufu fan Athena & her amazing family - the Best Poutine in New England!

Registration for the Center for French Colonial Studies Annual Conference in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine is now open.

This is not a strictly academic conference. The conference features lectures by noted scholars, tours, musical performances, and great meals. All events are centered on the Franco-American experience in North America, and anyone can sign up.

Primary sponsors include the Acadian Archives, the Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine, the Maine State Museum, PoutineFest USA - Maine, and Arbre Croche Cultural Resources.
