This is a pottery bowl that is a special order. It’s all carved out and i tried to smooth the inside of the spots where I carved out in the bowl. The person wanted something like this and I’m hoping that it doesn’t break. At this state it is very fragile. This will be fired in the kiln. Then I get to paint it. It’s going to take me a while to paint it. This bowl is the only one of its kind. I hope the customer will like this. I’m so happy that this bowl is looking really good.

I’m working on a special order. This is my second jar or vase that I’m making. I am putting clay coils on top of the base of the clay and I’m pushing the part of the coils down on top of each other. Then I’m using a pottery tool called the rib to smooth out the the vase to give it a shape. I did use a sponge to smooth out even more of the vase. I put my hand inside of the vase to hold it from the inside so that way I can use the sponge or rib to smooth out the vase. Then I am going to add a lip and to put it on top of the vase while I am going to score it. Then add some little water on top of the places that I am going to score. I was making sure that the vase is looking to the shape I want it to be. This is a special order in progress.

I made a turkey plate for a customer last year. They wanted a turkey plate for thanksgiving last year. Then I made two Santa Clauses plates for two customers last year. Each customer wanted a Santa Clause plate for the Christmas season last year. I had a great time making these things and painting them.
