“OBJECTIVES
“To preserve the memories of the Maine Blues Music Hall of Fame Members who have preceded us in this field of endeavor.
“To perpetuate for posterity the incidents that have brought the Blues music profession, within the State of Maine, to the stature that recognizes the contributions of these honored personalities.
“To help and guide ot
hers in learning about the Hall of Fame Members for their accomplishments during their lifetimes in performing Blues.
“To promote, educate, and perform Blues in all the various categories and names, in a manner that shall keep it clean, wholesome, enjoyable, and in a pleasurable form of entertainment for people of all ages.
“To always preserve, promote, develop, expand the enjoyment and performance of the Blues as an enduring cultural art form, for the future within the State of Maine.
“PURPOSE
“The purpose of establishing the Maine Blues Heritage Foundation is as follows:
“To create and maintain a physical warehouse and showplace for Blues Music Hall of Fame Members. To display historic memorabilia accumulated throughout the years of public entertainment in order to provide a museum for the general public to view and learn about the careers of leaders in Blues music industry.
“To recognize their individual and collective accomplishments, thus preserving for the future, the important cultural contributions of Maine Blues Music’s greatest entertainers of the past, present, and future.
“... Each year, one or more deserving Blues Music personalities are elected and inducted into the Maine Blues Heritage Foundation."
