STORY TIME - PART 2: Did you see yesterdayās reel? If not, go back and watch it! Trust me, itās worth it! š
After our all-black Belgian Malinois jumped onto my wet, all-white, canvas, we took him for a walk and laughed the entire time. The reality of it all was that no dogs or canvases were harmed in the incident, and paint can be cleaned up off tile, so it could have been much worse!!! Praise God it wasnāt! š
The next day, after the canvas had dried, I evaluated the Mambo marks. I removed some, softened some, and actually enhanced others. For me, the initial layer of a painting is all about creating a sense of history, and, in reality, Mambo helped me do that!
Working on a commission painting is deeply personal for me. I want to get to know my client and I am in conversation with God regularly about the piece and the people. As I continued to work on the painting, I felt God wanted me to work WITH the marks instead of against them; see them as charming character marks instead of anything else. I felt God telling me to not fret and that it was all going to be OK in the end.
The final painting⦠the marks are considerably disguised compared to the beginning, but many are still present.
And my clients⦠they LOVE the Mambo marks and didnāt even see them until I pointed them out and sent them the videos! And seeing the videos, they LOVE the painting even more!
So, when we think things are all going wrong , maybe they arenāt? Maybe they are going exactly as they are supposed to!
