Latest work in art class, learning to speak acrylics! My teacher selected this subject for me and it was quite the challenge to complete it in 3 hours! 9” x 12” on watercolor paper. $250

Back at art class again this week, and started with a golden underpainting. Working in acrylics is so different from oils and I am struggling to make peace with it all, but this one felt pretty good.

New project! I’ve been commissioned to do tiny paintings (4” square) for a new hotel in the valley. They want “interesting” rather than “pretty” and this is the first subject they approved. Consider this a draft… Can you identify the subject?

Napa County has another fire blazing, but it is better controlled than previous fires. I’m so very thankful for the wisdom and efforts of our leaders to protect us… check out this quote from the Napa Register:

This is much different than 2020 and the Glass Fire. Napa County is much more prepared today than it was five years ago," Matt Ryan said during the agency’s Facebook conference. “With the investments of the Board of Supervisors in fire prevention and fuels treatment, with the establishment of 22 Firewise communities, Napa County is now prepared.”
