“Barrio Hollywood” is a homecoming for the founders of Alebrijes del Valle – two of whom are NVC alumni and one is currently a student.
During their time as students, all three artists worked on several NVC Performing Arts and Shakespeare Napa Valley productions. You may have witnessed Andrés Agustín Barrera's directing work in "Spring Awakening" or seen Giovanny Perez and Vircel June in "As You Like It," among others. Notably, all three artists collaborated on Edward Albee's "Zoo Story," which was presented as a part of our 2025 Emergence Festival, with Barrera directing Perez and Vircel in the piece.
From appearing in Shakespeare Napa Valley’s productions as students to partnering with them as emerging theater makers, the founders of Alebrijes del Valle serve as an example of the community fostered through NVC Performing Art’s program.
Barrio Hollywood es un regreso a casa para los fundadores de Alebrijes del Valle, dos de los cuales son alumnos de NVC y uno sigue de estudiante.
Durante su tiempo como estudiantes, los tres artistas trabajaron en varias producciones de Artes Escénicas de NVC y Shakespeare Napa Valley. Tal vez hayas visto el trabajo de Andrés Agustín Barrera como director en “Spring Awakening” o haz visto a Giovanny Pérez y Vircel June en “As You Like It”, entre otros espectáculos. En particular, los tres artistas colaboraron en “Zoo Story” de Edward Albee, que fue presentado como parte de nuestro Emergence Festival, con Barrera dirigiendo a Pérez y Vircel en la obra.
Desde aparecer en las producciones de Shakespeare Napa Valley como estudiantes hasta asociarse como creadores de teatro emergentes, los fundadores del Alebrijes del Valle sirven como un ejemplo de la comunidad fomentada a través del programa de NVC Performing Arts.
