Two years ago, food stylist Jeffrey Martin (jeffreymartinfoodstylist.com) was having a discussion with industry colleagues about a peculiar trend they had all noticed: many food photography contests and exhibitions were juried by people who were not food stylists or photographers themselves, nor were they well-credentialed within the food world. Wouldn’t it make more sense for such affairs to be created, run, and juried by people who actually live and breathe the business every day? That one, simple conversation led to the creation of Food Photo Affair. Food Photo Affair is about professional development and awarding those who are best in class. The conference will provide professional development workshops, lively food photography discussions, engaging speaker panels, and a fun/relaxed environment to network with sponsors and other food-related professionals. The exhibition offers attendees and others a chance to show their work and gain worldwide recognition among an audience of food photographers, food stylists, food bloggers, and other food industry professionals.
