The good news? They’ll be back! 🙌

The bad news? My 25-pound boxes of chocolate chips decided to take the scenic route getting here. 🚚💨 Apparently it wanted a vacation before becoming Cookies.

And before anyone asks… no, I don’t run to Walmart or Kroger buying armloads of little bags. 🍫⛰️😅

🎉 scheduled to arrive today! Hopefully before the Cake House Cookie fans start forming a search party. 🍪🚔😂

What many people mean when they say they need a custom cake “ASAP” and don’t want to pay “an arm and a leg” is:

*They can’t make it.
* They want it quickly.
* They want it customized.
* They want it as cheap as possible.

A custom baker spends hours on design, baking, decorating, supplies, communication, and often rearranging their schedule for a last-minute order. What seems expensive to a customer is often a pretty modest hourly rate once everything is factored in.

As a former custom cake baker/decorator,
I can confirm that ‘ASAP’ and ‘doesn’t charge an arm and a leg’ are usually on opposite ends of the cake spectrum. 😅

And now… when I’m tagged in a post of someone looking for an “ASAP” cake, I can simply keep scrolling and enjoy the fact that I’m no longer the one getting those messages at 8PM asking for a fully custom birthday cake by tomorrow evening. 😂🍰

Honestly, while being as respectful as I can, since I’ve shifted away from custom cakes, it can be especially frustrating to see posts that unintentionally undervalue the work of local bakers who still do them.

Please keep in mind custom cakes are one of those things where you pay for someone else’s time, skill, and creativity—not just flour and sugar. ❤️

Oreo Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Chookies are loaded with cheesecake filling, mini chocolate chips, and topped with crushed Oreos. 😍for the caramel lovers, basically everything you love about a 🐢turtle cheesecake stuffed inside a giant cookie. 👏 the caramel is as gooey as it looks.
And yes…there’s even a photo of what’s on the cake house counter right now…but not for long💨when they’re gone they’re gone!

After giving it a lot of thought, I’ve decided to continue offering the same types of treats I’ve traditionally kept in the Cake House.

I’ve received several requests for specialty items, and I truly appreciate the suggestions. However, as a home-based cottage baker, because of the risk of cross-contact, I am unable to guarantee that any item is safe for those with food allergies, celiac disease, alpha-gal syndrome, or other dietary sensitivities.

Food allergies and sensitivities are serious. The safety of my customers is my top priority, and I would never want someone with a severe food allergy or sensitivity to unknowingly be put at risk😢

Hopefully this will help explain why the Cake House can’t be everything to everyone—❤️🍰😊 For that reason, I’ll continue focusing on the cookies, brownies, cake pops, and other treats that the Cake House is well known for.

In a previous post, many of you shared a wonderful list of local bakers who specialize in gluten-free, allergen-friendly, and other specialty baked goods. If you’re looking for those options, please consider supporting those small businesses. They have dedicated their time, knowledge, and resources to serving those specific needs, and I appreciate the opportunity to help shine a light on their work🫶

Before I start rearranging things, help me understand what everyone means when they ask for more gluten-free options.

The Cake House most regularly stocks:
