How's your Saturday, Kroakers?!
It's been a while since I've done this. So why am I doing it now?
Because I'M NOT GIVING UP!
That's right, my little psychos. This Saturday marks the return of NEW MUSIC SATURDAY!
I've got some ideas rattling around inside this wild little mind of mine (which is always a dangerous thing) and some plans slowly working their way into existence, so I figured it was high time I started stepping up my game again.
I went through my ever-growing list of songs to get and picked out several new ones, along with a few requests and a couple songs I already had but desperately needed better versions of because, frankly, some karaoke tracks sound like they were recorded inside a microwave in 2007.
I also took the liberty of giving the Canva project I use for the New Music list a little facelift to reflect this new era in our Kroaker lives. Eventually, I'll create something entirely new, but for now, the slight makeover will suffice. She's doing her best. We don't judge her.
Now, before anybody gets TOO excited, keep in mind that even though I have the new music, I'm not quite at the point where I have a new system yet.
I've got a few of you helping me sniff out some speakers, because I know exactly enough about speakers to know what kind of hookup I need...and that's about where my expertise packs its bags and leaves the building. 😂
As for the rest of the equipment, I've got the major pieces sitting patiently in my Amazon cart, staring at me with their judgmental little price tags. Unfortunately, my bank account has looked at said price tags and responded with something along the lines of, "HAHAHAHAHAHA. No."
So I'm also looking into some temporary options to at least get the ball rolling while I save up enough to get everything I actually want. I'm on the hunt for a portable TV or monitor with a stand, and I'm also considering a projector and screen for our traveling adventures.
So fear not! Monster is still on the hunt! I may not have a system yet, but I have stubbornness, terrifying amounts of determination, and access to Facebook Marketplace. We'll get there.
In the meantime, don't forget about our TAKEOVER TONIGHT at 11th Frame Lounge inside Nampa Bowl! Karaoke is scheduled to start at 9 PM, and as I've mentioned before, I plan on getting there a little early so we can hopefully claim some good seats together.
But before I disappear into the abyss of all the crap I still need to get done today, I have one little announcement.
The next two Saturdays are going to look a little different.
I'll be taking my husband camping in Idaho City for his birthday, so I won't be here in the valley to participate in the Kroaker Takeovers. HOWEVER...this does not mean Monster is taking a vacation from karaoke. Let's not get ridiculous.
While I'm up there, I'll be meeting with Steve, the KJ from Harley's Pub, and helping him update his system with our music. And fortunately for me, he's hosting karaoke again at Harley's on Saturday the 15th.
Only this time, he's going to have a MUCH better selection of music!

So yes, I fully intend to spend that Saturday happily reunited with some of the songs I've been missing like they're long-lost appendages I lost doing something stupid and have somehow miraculously been reattached.
And if any of you want to come join me in Idaho City, you are 👏🏼MORE 👏🏼 than 👏🏼 welcome! If you feel like making a whole adventure out of it and camping with us, there's plenty of room for that too. We'll be up there from August 13th through the 22nd, so you can come whenever you want, stay however long you want, and escape back to civilization whenever you've had enough of trees, dirt, campfires, and whatever nonsense we're inevitably getting ourselves into.
For those of you staying here in the valley, though, I'm going to leave the next two Saturdays up to you guys.
There is absolutely no reason a Kroaker Takeover can't still happen just because I'm off gallivanting through the Idaho wilderness. Contrary to what my ego occasionally whispers to me, you are all perfectly capable of existing without me. 😂
So tell me what you want to do!
We can keep the voting system going for those two weeks, and I'll still make the posts while I'm up there so you guys can vote and descend upon the winning venues accordingly. OR you guys can take those two weekends to do your own thing, cause whatever chaos you see fit, and we'll resume our regularly scheduled Takeovers once I get back.

Alright. That's enough rambling out of me. I've got things to do today, and we all know I could sit here and keep talking to you people until sometime next Thursday.
