We are so honored to announce that next season’s competition will include Adrienne Kerr on our esteemed panel of judges. Adrienne’s dance education began in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was enriched by study with Gelsey Kirkland. In Youth America Grand Prix competitions, she earned multiple Top 12 and bronze honors prior to performing in the New York finals. Training at Pacific Northwest Ballet School on annual scholarships led to joining Ballet Idaho at age 17 where she soon progressed to dancing lead roles. In 2015, Adrienne was promoted to Principal Artist. This year was her seventeenth season with the Ballet Idaho company. She is an RPCollection brand Pro, dance competition adjudicator, YAGP coach, pointe shoe fitting consultant, injury recovery advisor, and master class teacher.
We can’t wait to give local dancers the opportunity to receive feedback and glean knowledge from such an accomplished artist!

More dancer feedback!
“I loved the Gem State competition! One of my favorite parts was that I got to do a run through of my variation on stage in front of the judges, that wasn’t scored, and then get feedback from them! It helped get my nerves out and helped me to get to know the judges better and what they were looking for when I actually performed my variation. I also loved the friendly nature of the competition, all of the competitors were just out there doing what they love!”

We are proud to share what the dancers had to say about their experience at he competition! “Gem state ballet competition was so amazing! It not only had an amazing enviorment with friendly competitiors but helped me grow as a dancer and take corrections and apply before preforming. It was very diffrent from other competitions in the sense that the judges weren’t just there to pick a winner but they were there to help me grow. Its a very well rounded comp and I appreciate Ms. Kimberly working so hard to put it together. The culture and sportsmanship at the comp were amazing and it felt very professional!“. Congratulations to Gracelyn Dietz! She was awarded a full scholarship to the Idaho Dance Theatre Summer Dance Fest! Gracelyn currently trains at Ballet Idaho Academy as well as Echo School of Dance. Congratulations to McKenna Palmer! We are so proud to announce that McKenna was awarded a full scholarship to the Idaho Dance Theatre Summer Dance Fest. She received her early classical ballet training at Treasure Valley Ballet. She has also trained at Ballet 5:8 and Fort Wayne Ballet. She currently attends the Ballet Idaho Adult Division and joined Gem State Ballet this season as a soloist. Beautiful job McKenna! PC- Mike Paz
