Introducing one of our directors Matt McDaniel.

Matthew McDaniel, PhD, is a founding member, board member, and assistant director of Inicio. Dr. McDaniel holds a degree in Music Education (BA) from the College of Idaho and degrees in Educational Leadership (M.Ed., Ph.D.) from the University of Idaho. He spent over a decade directing secondary choral ensembles in the Treasure Valley before moving into school leadership positions. His ensembles regularly received superior festival ratings and were chosen for showcase performance opportunities. Dr. McDaniel is equally comfortable as a director and performer in both classical and jazz idioms and has served as a clinician, adjudicator, and presenter at local and state music festivals and conferences. He currently works as the principal of Lewis and Clark Elementary School in Caldwell, ID. As an educational leader, Dr. McDaniel has presented at the local, state, national, and international levels supporting other school leaders. He lives in Caldwell with his wife, Kristina, and three children.
