SFA Art Galleries & Cole Art Center

The SFA Art Galleries present regional, national and international art, educational programs Regular gallery hours are 12:30-5 pm, Tuesday-Friday.

The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 East Main Street, is a renovated 10,238 square foot gallery located in downtown Nacogdoches and is part of the SFA School of Art. The gallery hosts over 15 exhibitions annually including the annual national art competition Texas National. We also host a monthly "First Friday Film" series and many other artist talks, receptions and events. There is ne

ver a charge for admission.Gallery hours are 12:30 - 5 p.m., Tuesday - Friday; and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday.The Griffith Gallery is located in the Griffith Fine Arts building on Vista drive, 208 Griffith Fine Arts Building. This gallery hosts 3-4 exhibitions a year during the main school year. This venue is also open before most Fine Arts evening events in Turner Auditorium.

The SFASU School of Art Faculty Exhibition is currently on display here at the Cole Art Center in downtown Nacogdoches, Texas.
Our featured faculty member is Erik Ordaz, whose exhibition “Signal Loop-The Telescope Series” is on display upstairs in our Reavley Gallery.
Come check out the wonderful work created by our Art Faculty, and join us for a reception Thursday, Sep. 3, 5-7pm! As always we are free and open to the public!

RECEPTION TODAY! Join us this evening at 5:00pm for the reception of “Doc’s Legacy: A Memoriam of Dr. Michael Roach’s Photography”. As always, we will have free food and drink, and we are free to attend!
This exhibition showcases older and newer photographs by Dr. Michael Roach, shown in the upstairs Reavley Gallery, and includes work by many of Dr. Roach’s former students in our upstairs Hallway Gallery. This display includes works by Van Redin, Barry Jordan, Britt Stokes, Robert Seale, Louis DeLuca, Jan Anderson-Paxson, and Kevin Vandivier.

“Doc’s Legacy: A Memoriam of Dr. Michael Roach’s Photography”, which will have its reception this Saturday, July 25, at 5pm! Come down and enjoy this free reception and beautiful artwork!
This exhibition showcases older and newer photographs by Dr. Michael Roach, shown in the upstairs Reavley Gallery, and includes work by many of Dr. Roach’s former students in our upstairs Hallway Gallery. The Cole Art Center has finished install and is now open! We have 2 newly installed shows on view, “Doc’s Legacy: A Memoriam of Dr. Michael Roach’s Photography” and the Nacogdoches Photography Club 2026 Gallery Show! Stop by and see both of these beautiful photography shows!
The Cole Art Center is located in downtown Nacogdoches, and we are open 12-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday!

The Cole Art Center is proud to exhibit “Doc’s Legacy: A Memoriam of Dr. Michael Roach’s Photography”, opening this Tuesday, July 7th, with a reception on Saturday, July 25, 5-7pm.
This exhibit showcases older and newer photographs by Dr. Michael Roach, shown in the upstairs Reavley Gallery, and includes work by many of Dr. Roach’s former students in our upstairs Hallway Gallery. These works, leading into Dr. Roach’s work, showcase many of the artists Dr. Roach inspired.

Today is the last day to come by and see Five Painters: New Myths here at the Cole Art Center! This has been a beautiful exhibition, and we were thrilled to be able to share it with everyone! If you are in Nac and haven’t had a chance to see it, please come stop by and see it on its last day!
Organized by Kirk Hopper Fine Art and curated by Susie Kalil, the exhibition features works by artists with ties to Stephen F. Austin State University, including current students, alumni and faculty.
On display through June 28, Five Painters: New Myths showcases the diverse voices and creative perspectives of Shaun Roberts, Alexandria Wooldridge, Alberto Perez, Dagon Blank and Aarionne Hobbs.
