This 3/4 sized gamba cornered Prescott was restored by Lou DiLeone in 1984. This is a rare chance to own a Prescott for a lot less than it would typically command. This one is priced a firm $28,000, and the reason it's not 45-50K is that it was re-varnished in the process.

Another high value orchestral bass: Guy Cole, Avalon Studio, 2011 with B extension. Previously owned by a backline company, and has been played a lot and well taken care of. It really sounds great and is a good fit for a serious student or working bassist. At $20,000 it offers great value. Get in touch to try it out!

A very healthy Romanian bass labeled Virgilio Calini, Napoca 2004. We are lowering the price: $15,000 down from 20,000. This is a chance to get a very good orchestra or jazz bass with C-extension at great value.

This is a great opportunity to get a 3/4 gamba cornered Prescott for less than Prescott money. This bass was restored by New Haven, CT luthier Lou DiLeone in 1984. The restoration was done well, and the bass plays great, but it was re-varnished in the process – and that is the reason it's not $45-50K, but a firm $28,000.

You've seen this old Italian bass, and Gary has spent a lot of time researching its origins, with the help of trusted sources who point towards Vicenzo Postiglione. Beautiful sounding and looking instrument with a B extension and great and mysterious history, for the professional orchestal player.

Similar in tone and spirit to the big Von Tietz we showed off yesterday. A 1920s Morelli. If you love the German tone and are ready to step up from for example a Juzek – this one's for you.

We have this large, unique bass available. Built in 2007 by Gerald Von Tietz in Scottsdale, AZ, and named Grendel II. Beautiful wood and a clear voice. If you are a taller player looking for a double bass, this one's a great value instrument, ready to rumble. Get in touch and try it out!

Meet “Grendel II,” a unique American full 4/4 double bass, built in 2007 by Gerald Von Tietz. It was rebuilt at Upton with a new top and the string length taken down from 44" to a manageable 42". Alex Svensen shows what powerful orchestral giant can do. It's available at $18,000 and ready to rumble.
