Update on Dominick (September 21st)
He is home. The hospital released him because he doesn’t have health insurance. He still needs surgery on his mouth and broken collar bone, however the hospital will not operate without insurance. He is doing well, but still in an extreme amount of pain. ALL proceeds will go to his doctor appointments and medications. Anything helps. Thank you all for the prayers, please keep them coming. 🩵
Update on Dominick (September 12th):
He still has no short term memory. Doctors have switched his pain medication from IV to oral. He is still in a lot of pain and contracted Covid. I spoke to him on the phone briefly yesterday and he sounds great, considering the circumstances. He still needs surgery on his mouth. They did move him from ICU to SSU. Not sure when he’ll be able to be discharged.
doctors say his mind is intact and he has no mental deficiencies to note as of yet. With enough physical therapy, he should be walking again after a few long months. Once I know more, I’ll post here. Please continue to pray 🙏
For those of you who don’t know, our employee Dominick was in an accident on his bike on saturday night. He is in the trauma ICU. He has a brain bleed, a hematoma in his brain, fractured and swollen skull, broken jaw, legs and ankles. It is hard for him to speak. He has no memory of what happened and can’t form any new memories. Doctors say his memory should come back within time. We remain hopeful that within time, he will progress and recover.
A lot of you have asked if it was okay to donate funds to Dominick. The answer is yes. We spoke with his mother, Tina, and she wanted us to make it very clear to everyone that she will not be receiving the funds or using the funds for anything for herself. Her wishes are the funds to be directly given to Dominick for when he recovers.
On thursday, we will have a donation box at our front counter for anyone who wishes to donate. As we do not expect donations, it is very much appreciated as Dominick will be out of work for a long time.
We ask that you please pray for him and his family during this time.
