In case you missed our various announcements, we want to apologize for the various technical difficulties we unexpectedly accrued today. Much like our namesake, our maiden voyage set sail smoothly and then had some hiccups. While filming went well, sharing the video, though we are well knowledgeable, had some snafus. In addition to unanticipated construction near our studio which knocked out the studio's internet for most of the day, we were also made aware this evening of several site outages nationwide, including those of Google, Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube (as reported by downdetector.com) We had planned on uploading the video tonight, but unfortunately YouTube is still down in our area. Once it can be uploaded, we will post the link for your viewing pleasure. Again, the deepest apologies go out to our patrons today, and today's donors will be receiving a free souvenir soon in our gratitude for your support and understanding. (Donors, if you could please reach out with your mailing address so we can get those to you, we will mail them ASAP.) Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We hope you'll tune in again soon for future episodes, which we're sure will be less eventful a day in regards to technology.

109 years ago, at 11:40 p.m. (9:40 EST) the R.M.S. Titanic's haul struck the iceberg. Sometime around 2:10 a.m. (12:10 a.m. EST) as she began settling more quickly into the icy cold North Atlantic, the melancholy sounds of ragtime filled the air and suddenly stopped as Bandmaster Wallace Hartley tapped his bow against his violin, and as he and his fellow bandmates donned their life vests, they struck up the final tune after a brief moment's silence of "Nearer My God to Thee." Perhaps unintentionally ironic, the hymn features a motif of pleading for the mercy of the Almighty, just as the ship that "God himself could not sink" crumbled beneath them. This would be the final song played on board the ship, as just 10 minutes later at 2:20 a.m., the stern sank beneath the water, the last part of the ship to go down after the haul had split. 700 souls were eventually salvaged from the icy waters, but 1500 souls, including those of Captain E.J. Smith, would unfortunately perish. Please join us in remembering all those on board that evening and in praying for those who never left that Fateful Voyage.

Please enjoy this full version. This is the song the band played before the Titanic sank."Sometime around 2.10 a.m. as the Titanic began settling more quickl...
