Meet LaRhonda Mabry, Associate Producer of the “Higher Ground Documentary”!

She is a proud native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, who decided to join the Higher Ground Team because her desire to tell our stories and our ancestors’ stories are deep! She believes in the project and wants to continue to build and fight for social and economic injustice!

LaRhonda recently shared with us her WHY in a more profound meaning:
“When we talk about Higher Ground, I think it’s vital that we continue to use each brick provided by our ancestors as they’ve lifted us, as well as for each of us individually to continue building and fighting for social and economic justice for future generations as we continue the journey reaching for Higher Ground! I appreciate the history of strength and resiliency of my people. I think we must Remember, Honor, and Share these stories, our stories, and for those stories to be told by US.

It is an honor to do what I can in collaboration with the great visionary producer, director Whitney Anderson and our team of black women to help bring the vision to life.”

Thank you for sharing with us your WHY!

Did you catch our Producer/Director Whitney Anderson on the RightThisMinute show with sweet Grandma Ola Mae?

They chatted with Charity Bailey and her co-hosts about the Higher Ground film and why it’s so important to tell black stories.

We’re thrilled to have this recognition by a national news outlet that’s committed to amplifying positive stories.

And just like Grandma Ola Mae said, “We’re very proud too”

Meet the team, aka "The Black Lady Film Crew."

Did you know that a bold and beautiful collective of black millennial women are behind the Higher Ground documentary?

Malcolm X stated, "The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman."

We're changing that narrative. Point. Blank. Period.

Young Black Leader and National Activist Lawrence Dishawn Nathaniel came through and dropped some knowledge on our production team!
Lawrence is the Founder of Black Lives Matter - South Carolina. He is amplifying his voice to make change for our black communities and nation!
