Sometimes the most beautiful things in the world require you to run outside in PJs and crocs, into the cold, trying to stand perfectly still while holding your camera in night vision with maximum exposure. We had a real treat tonight with a gorgeous Aurora above our town! I feel so blessed to live here, what a sight to behold!

Today marks the Autumnal Equinox, also called Mabon! Here, we notice the days getting shorter, nights getting longer, and the warmth turning colder. By this time, most harvests should be or are close to wrapping up, with cleaning and storage preparations for the coming winter months already underway. Often, a final feast is laid out with an offering of thanks to the heavens for the reaped rewards of the harvest, as well as a prayer for a mild winter that gives the world a much-needed rest before the farming season begins once again.

In our own lives, we see it as the start of the annual holiday rush. "I need to get this for that person!" "There was so much I wanted to do this year!" Don't let the season have you run faster than your own, peaceful pace! Take time in each day (or night) to celebrate all that has been accomplished this year. Maybe take a walk amongst the changing leaves and trees, drawing reflection upon how your own life changed this year. Look forward to spending time with yourself, family, and/or friends to keep your light shining, even when the darkness grows deeper and colder in this cycle of nature. Blessed Be!
