When all you have left to give is friendship, you have reached a milestone. This is a milestone that many never experience. This culture we live in today is so quick to cancel you out of their life just because they don't like something you do or do not do. If they can't get something material, they don't want anything to do with you. I remember my 6th grade teacher telling me that you'll be able to count your true friends on one hand. I don't need anyone to copy and paste and share this because you have nothing to prove. Honestly, sharing a Facebook post proves nothing to me. Social media really means nothing to me. We have lives to live outside of this tiny cellular box that we carry. This tiny box that we actually live in. This tiny box that we think holds our contentment. We scroll and scroll and scroll page after page reel after reel trying to fill some kind of void that can't be filled with social media or any type of technology. You may have thousands of Facebook friends and still be lonely. There are many people in this world that just need to be visited. They can't give you anything in return except for their love. Your friendship will mean the world to them. More than any material thing ever could. Because you took the time out of your life to go and be a blessing to someone who is going through exactly what you are going through. It doesn't make sense but that's when healing comes. Friendship isn't always peaceful. You may see things you don't want to see. You may hear things you don't want to hear. Someone may walk out of your life and never return. It could be family, friends, or acquaintances but they can still leave you. No one is immune to being deserted. But do for others what you would like to have done for yourself. All it takes is a little bit of time.
