FUN was, as usual, the key element of our September 28 TVUS get-together, but hey, isn't that always the best part of getting together to play our ukuleles?! 😄👍🎶 Some of the peppy pieces that we play seem to almost "require" that we whip out our kazoos, too, which we happily did for a couple of tunes. 😄🎶

Open Mic time at TVUS has never been a time for experienced players to show off their skills, but rather, a time to just play a favorite song... something romantic or funny or sentimental, or whatever suits their fancy. All you have to be is a little bit bold and willing to just have fun. 😄🎶 This time, we had three open mic players. Linda D'Angelo played her rendition of "Corina, Corina," George Schwartz, a new ukulele player, shared "King of The Road," and Lorraine Uribe gave us "You Raise Me Up." No matter the skill level, our audience always expresses  plenty of appreciation to our open mic participants. 👏👏👏

At the end of every session, we play our closing medley of "Happy Trails to You" and Aloha 'Oe," after which we all raise our ukes in friendly solidarity. (See photo). 👋😎🌴🎶

We can now officially announce that the Patton Pending Five has been invited to perform at the upcoming Oceanside Ukulele Festival. The Patton Pending Five is the performing quintet of the Patton Pending Ukulele Ensemble. The abbreviated set will start at noon on the Fountain (Main) Stage and conclude around 12:20pm. Please join us! You will want to hear what three ukuleles, a bass, and some percussion can do Beyond the Strum™! Refer to the flyer for more information.
