At Shawnee Cave Amphitheater, we believe the heart of Southern Illinois beats strongest when our independent music festivals thrive. That’s why we’re excited to share and support our friends at the Little Grassy Get Down, happening at Touch of Nature October 10–12, 2025 in Makanda, IL.

This family-friendly bluegrass & Americana festival will feature an incredible lineup… from Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Woodbox Gang to Chicago Farmer, The Hooten Hallers, Chain Station, and so many more.

🎶✨ Southern Illinois is lucky to have events like Sugar Creek Music Festival keeping live music and family friendly gatherings alive in our region. Huge respect to Evin Betts, his wife Whit and their hardworking crew who year after year have poured their hearts into building something special for our community.

🎶 Support Local Music & Festivals – Moccasin Creek Needs Us! 🎶

At Shawnee Cave Amphitheater, we’ve always believed in the power of live music to bring people together – not just at our venue, but across the entire region. While we made the tough decision not to host events this season due to broader industry challenges and our own licensing issues with Jackson County, our commitment to supporting music and the festival community has never wavered.

Today, we want to shine a spotlight on our friends at Moccasin Creek Festival – a grassroots event built with love, vision, and a whole lot of hustle. They’ve put together an absolutely incredible lineup this year featuring Suzy Bogguss, John Moreland, Cheryl Wheeler, Robbie Fulks, Matt Poss Band, and many more.

Unfortunately, ticket sales are down – and they’ve been open and honest about the need for support. This is a moment for all of us who care about live music and independent festivals to step up.

Ready for the WEEKEND!!!! We are enamored by the overwhelming love and continued support for southern Illinois and for The Shawnee Cave that our fans near and far shows us. We here at the Shawnee Cave Amphitheater have a fantastic festival coming for you in just over a MONTH!

🦋 Weekend At The Cave (8/30-9/1/2024) - At The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater in Murphysboro, IL. Three days of camping, live music, band meet & greets, awesome vendors, live artists, fresh air, beautiful scenery and even fire dancing!!!

🦋 Our family-friendly venue allows kids 15 and under in FREE with any adult ticket so bring the entire family out!! No child ticket will be needed for them to enter.

🦋 FREE parking and FREE shuttles on site all weekend long!!

🦋 Tailgating starts here in our parking Lot at NOON each day!!!

🦋 GATE HOURS ARE BELOW:

Friday 8/30/24: Gates at 5pm ~ Music at 7pm-midnight;
Sat. 8/31/24: Gates at 2pm ~ Music at 4pm-2am;

Join us in a little over 5 weeks for Weekend At The Cave (8/30-9/1/2024) - At The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater! This is a monumental event for us here at The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater. Now more than ever, it's important to come together and honor this vibrant community we have built here in southern Illinois. Our venue supports a large part of our community by providing a safe, inspiring, outdoor, family-friendly space for live music and entertainment, to people near and far.

The festivals here at The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater enhance and enrich local and regional culture and music, the arts, local businesses, local food truck owners, and more, and we have done an incredible job building a sense of community here in rural southern Illinois that would otherwise not be possible.

We cherish our amazing neighbors, attendees, staff, volunteers, production crew, musicians, vendors, live artists, campers, and those who have never even been to our venue but continue to support our community by sharing and liking our posts and spreading the word about our mission any way they can.

We just can't thank you all enough and we have put together a really incredible Labor Day Weekend for you all to enjoy here at the Shawnee Cave Amphitheater in Murphysboro, IL.
