SATURDAY MORNING AND THE GHOSTS ARE GETTING RESTLESS! 👻

Spirit/Song is underway, and if you haven't made it to the lighthouse yet, you've still got TWO chances this weekend to see what all the excitement is about!

And judging by what audiences are saying, you might want to make some plans:

"It's a ghost story, it's a love story, it's a mystery and a thriller. I've never seen anything like it. Beautifully told, relatable, sad, and hopeful at the same time. Don't miss this opportunity."

Ghosts, romance, mystery, and a few questions you might still be thinking about on Monday. What's not to love? 😉

ONLY TWO SHOWS LEFT THIS WEEKEND!
SATURDAY at 7:30 PM
SUNDAY at 2:00 PM

Whether you're coming for the love story or the things that go bump in the night, everyone deserves a seat at the theatre! That's why EVERY performance is Pay-What-You-Can. And if you're feeling extra spirited, Pay-It-Forward helps keep the magic alive for everyone.

WEEKEND TWO OF SPIRIT/SONG STARTS TONIGHT!

And in honor of this momentous moment, we present to you, part 2 of Spririt/Song on the radio. 📻👻

Reincarnation??? Different timelines??? One story with LOTS of theories! 🤔

MCT Artistic Director Todd Thomas sat down with cast members Sophie Falvey and Dan Fitz to talk about the mysteries of Spirit/Song!

From playing characters across different timelines to using the supernatural to explore something much deeper, there's plenty to unpack. And with audiences leaving the theatre swapping theories, this might just be one of those shows you need to see TWICE!

They also talk about why Pay-What-You-Can matters and why making theatre accessible to everyone is so important to MCT. Everyone deserves a chance to unravel the mystery!

Catch up with part two of their radio conversation, then come see what all the mystery is about!

WHAT A WEDNESDAY AT MCT!

Yesterday had a little bit of everything! A midweek matinee of Spirit/Song, a special talkback with playwright David Bareford, AND the first staged reading of our Quill to Act finalists, Clean Slate!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a full day of theatre, conversation, and a little theatrical magic!

Today, we're giving the ghosts (and ourselves) a well-deserved day off. But don't get too comfortable. The lighthouse comes back to life TOMORROW as Spirit/Song returns for WEEKEND TWO!

Friday & Saturday at 7:30 PM
Sunday at 2:00 PM

Everyone deserves a seat at the theatre (even the ghosts! 👻 ). And that's why every performance is Pay-What-You-Can! If you're feeling extra spirited, Pay-It-Forward helps keep the magic alive for everyone.

WEDNESDAY IS A TWO-SHOW KIND OF DAY, full of spirits. 👻

First, spend your afternoon with the ghosts of Spirit/Song. Then come back tonight for a reading of a brand-new play with a few ghosts of its own.

12:00 PM • SPIRIT/SONG MID-WEEK MATINEE
Stick around after the show for a special talkback with playwright David Bareford. Ask your questions and maybe get a few answers about exactly what you just witnessed. 🧐

THEN, AT 7:00 PM…
Meet our first 2026 Quill to Act finalist: CLEAN SLATE.

Two years after a worldwide nuclear war wipes the slate clean, four survivors collide at Murphys Creek Theatre as they wrestle with their pasts, settle some ghosts, and try to secure a future. See the staged reading, join the talkback, and help choose which play moves on to MCT’s 2027 season.

And remember: Spirit/Song was last year’s Quill to Act winner. You never know what you might be seeing first. 😉

🎟️ TWO SHOWS. TWO MYSTERIES. PLENTY OF GHOSTS. YOU PICK THE PRICE. Pay-What-You-Can or Pay-It-Forward. Hit “GET TICKETS” in our profile and come investigate.

COMMUNITY NIGHT IS TONIGHT. 💪

Alright, Murphys. We’ve got a mystery on our hands, and apparently we’re going to need the whole gang for this one…

A remote lighthouse. A séance. 150 years of secrets. People appearing where and WHEN they probably shouldn’t. And one very important question: WHO exactly is haunting WHO? 🤔

Think you can figure out what’s going on? Come along for the ride. No van, magnifying glass, or audience participation required. 😏

Join us for COMMUNITY NIGHT tonight at 7:30 PM!

THE MYSTERY OF THE TICKET PRICE? SOLVED. Every performance at MCT is Pay-What-You-Can, or choose Pay-It-Forward to help someone else see the show.

🎟️ For tickets, click the "GET TICKETS" button in our profile.

AND THEN THERE’S WEDNESDAY… 😁 We’ve got a full day of theatre waiting for you:

12:00 PM • SPIRIT/SONG MID-WEEK MATINEE
Stick around after the show for a special talkback with playwright David Bareford!

7:00 PM • QUILL TO ACT: CLEAN SLATE
Come back Wednesday night for the first staged reading of our 2026 Quill to Act finalists. See a brand-new play, join the post-show talkback, and help us choose which finalist moves on to MCT’s 2027 season.

And if you’re wondering whether these readings actually lead anywhere… Spirit/Song was last year’s Quill to Act winner!

So what you’re saying is… you can’t see Spirit/Song on the weekends? 😏

Well, lucky for you, we have TWO special midweek performances just for you. (These are the ONLY two, so don’t miss them!) 😁

TUESDAY AT 7:30 PM
Community Night

WEDNESDAY AT 12 PM
Mid-Week Matinee + Talkback with Playwright David Bareford

That’s right. See the World Premiere of Spirit/Song, then stick around Wednesday afternoon to hear directly from the playwright himself about the ghosts, the time-bending, the romance, and how this whole wonderfully strange story came to be.

AND SPEAKING OF NEW PLAYS… Once you’ve seen this one, come back WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 7 PM for the first staged reading of our 2026 Quill to Act New Play Festival finalists: Clean Slate.

And just in case you need a reminder of why you should pay attention to these readings… Spirit/Song won Quill to Act last year. See this year’s winner before anyone knows it’s the winner.

🎟️ For tickets, click the "GET TICKETS" button in our profile.

Choose Pay-What-You-Can, or Pay-It-Forward to help make affordable theatre possible for someone else. You pick the price. We’ll provide the ghosts.👻

PSSST... HAVE YOU HEARD?

Today is the last Spirit/Song performance of opening weekend: Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 PM.

And we probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but since we’re sharing secrets… 🤫 If Sunday plans are already spoken for, we’ve got a couple of mid-week secrets worth knowing about:

Tuesday, October 6 at 7:30 PM • COMMUNITY NIGHT
Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00 PM • MID-WEEK MATINEE

A storm. A séance. A lighthouse holding onto 150 years of secrets. And a love story that may have been waiting just as long.

Our ticket prices? That’s one thing we’re not keeping secret. Every performance is Pay-What-You-Can, so choose the price that works for you. Or choose Pay-It-Forward and make it a little easier for someone else to uncover the secrets of the lighthouse. 🌊🤔

🎟️ For tickets, click the "GET TICKETS" button in our profile.

SO... YOU MISSED OPENING NIGHT. 😱

Lucky for you, Spirit/Song isn’t disappearing into the fog just yet. 😁

The World Premiere is officially underway, and we’ve got four more chances to see it over the next few days:

Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 PM
Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 PM

Tuesday, October 6 at 7:30 PM • COMMUNITY NIGHT
Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00 PM • MID-WEEK MATINEE

A remote lighthouse. A storm. A séance. A little Chopin. A few ghosts. And one very unexpected love story that refuses to stay in its own century.

Our ticket prices are a little less mysterious than the lighthouse. Every performance is Pay-What-You-Can, so choose the price that works for you. Or Pay-It-Forward and help another wandering soul find their way to a seat. 👻

WE’VE BEEN SUMMONING THIS ONE FOR A WHILE... AND TONIGHT, SPIRIT/SONG FINALLY ARRIVES. 🔮

After months of workshops, rehearsals, piano playing, ghost hunting, time bending, lighthouse building, and more than a few conversations that began with “Okay, but who is haunting WHO here?”... Spirit/Song opens TONIGHT!

This one is especially exciting for us. Last year, David Bareford’s play won our Quill to Act New Play Festival. Tonight, it gets its world premiere in front of an audience. Will you be there?

A remote lighthouse. A little Chopin. More than a few ghosts. And one very unexpected love story. 🌊 💕

Every performance is Pay-What-You-Can, because figuring out who’s dead, who’s alive, and what year it is should be complicated. Buying a theatre ticket shouldn’t be.

Or choose Pay-It-Forward and help someone else join us for the haunting. 👻

SPIRIT/SONG OPENS TOMORROW!

But before the lighthouse opens its doors, we’re rewinding the clock a little. (No DeLorean required. We think. 🤔)

In case you missed it, Todd Thomas, Braeden Harris, and Gillian Mackay Brown joined Mark Grauer on KZSQ Star 92.7 FM to talk about the World Premiere of Spirit/Song, and Part One asks some VERY important questions:

Will there be a DeLorean?
Just how bendy does time get?
Hauntings? Hysteria? Or is someone just... sensitive?
Who is really a ghost?!?
And perhaps more importantly, WHO is haunting WHOOOO?

Plus, the tragic tale of how the butler ended up on the cutting-room floor.

Listen to Part One, tune in to hear more of the cast on Star 92.7 FM tomorrow at 8:00 AM, then come see what survives the trip from page to stage.

SPIRIT/SONG
World Premiere
Opens Friday, October 2 at 7:30 PM

Pay-What-You-Can means your ticket price doesn’t have to come back to haunt you. Or Pay-It-Forward and help another theatre-goer choose a price that works for them. 👻🚫
