The Union County Historical Society’s Annual Mountain Heritage Festival had a whole host of features to enjoy over Labor Day Weekend. 2026 marked an intentional return to the two-day festival’s focus on history and cultural education – clearly a hit among guests downtown.

We look forward to sharing fiber crafts with everyone!

The Mountain Heritage Festival is set to return this Labor Day weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6, at the 1906 Grapelle Butt Mock House and Mountain Life Museum just off the square in Downtown Blairsville.

And this year marks a return to the “roots” of the festival hosted annually by the Union County Historical Society, with greater emphasis on local culture and tradition brought into the crafts and activities that families enjoy every year.
