MTSU Center for Chinese Music and Culture Featuring an impressive collection of Chinese musical instruments, this is the only center of its kind in North America.

In spring 2016, Middle Tennessee State University launched the Center for Chinese Music and Culture with a performance of replica ancient bells created specifically for the center. MTSU, Chinese, and other officials hail the Center as a future hub for promoting not only music and culture, but also language, business, and trade. Dr. Mei Han, Center’s Director and Associate Professor at MTSU School

of Music, is an ethnomusicologist specializing in Chinese music and an internationally acclaimed performer on the zheng, the 21-string Chinese long zither.
