Based in Murfreesboro, TN we strive to enhance the quality of life in our community through the arts.

The mission of the Center for the Arts is to enhance the quality of life in our community by providing cultural and economic enrichment through the arts. The Center for the Arts opened to the public on December 1, 1995 and was originally funded by the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. In 2008 The Center became a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization and now depends on the generosity of the public for funding. Since it’s opening, the Center for the Arts has been presenting theatrical productions, visual art exhibitions, music concerts, dance performances and educational classes.

Please join us October 25 and 26, 2026 for auditions for DREAMGIRLS, running January 15-24, 2027 on the Center for the Arts Stage!

Inspired by Motown and R&B legends of the 1960s-70s, Dreamgirls follows the rising stardom of the Dreamettes, an all-girl singing trio from Chicago. Inspired by the stories of groups such as The Supremes and The Shirelles and featuring many iconic classic songs, Dreamgirls is a love letter to American R&B music and the artists that make such music great.

PAGE TO STAGE is back!

Join us for a monthly arts series where stories leap off the page and into creative exploration, featuring a live read-aloud followed by interactive moments that bring the theme to life.

This month: Sophie's Masterpiece by Eileen Spinelli, a gentle story about a talented spider who spins beautiful creations wherever she goes, but struggles to find a place to belong. Shooed from room to room in her boarding house, Sophie finally finds a home with a kind young woman, and pours her heart into one final, beautiful gift.
