IBM Ring 252

IBM Ring 252 We meet the 1st Tuesday Night of the month to learn, perform, and further the art of magic. All are Welcome to the page I.B.M.

Ring 252 - The Sam Walkoff Ring aka The Middle Tennessee Magic Club. This Ring (located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee USA) is part of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, one of the oldest and most respected societies of prestidigitators in the world.

This Tuesday, a new tradition starts for The Middle Tennessee Magic Club.
As announced by Ring President Jimbo Hooten at our April meeting, beginning this month we will hold a second gathering. This one will be on the third Tuesday of each month (the official Ring meeting will remain on the first Tuesday).
This gathering will not be a Ring meeting. No business will be discussed. Nor is it a social event for small group chit-chat. This evening will be all about workshopping magic. Bring a routine or effect you're working on that you want to get feedback on. Short of that, it will be a jam session.
The location will be the Linebaugh Library in Murfreesboro, the same building where we have our monthly meetings. But unlike those meetings, which are held in the Community Room on the 2nd floor, these Workshop Nights will be held in the Boardroom at the opposite end of the 2nd floor of the library. Start time is 6:30pm with a hard stop before library closing time at 8pm.
See you there!

Dear Members & Friends of IBM Ring 252,

Linebaugh Library posted on their page today that they are changing their hours and they’re gonna start closing at 8 PM starting December 1st. Normally we start at 7:02 PM so that would give us less than an hour to conduct our meetings. I have reached out to the library and secured the same room that we meet in starting at 6:30. So for the foreseeable future, we will start our meetings at 6:30 in our usual meeting room. We can still run until 8 PM when the library closes. That will give us an hour and a half to conduct our business and open time for magic.
Some months we are in and out in an hour and a half & some months we take the full two hours. We’re just gonna have to be cognizant of running over our allotted times. I know it has been tradition since the formation of the club to start at 7:02 PM but right now at our current meeting space that is not an option for us. Maybe in the future the library will adjust their hours back to a later time or we can look at other meeting venues if we still want to start at 7:02.
So starting December 2, 2025 we will start meeting at the library at 6:30 PM. Until then, I wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving. I look forward to seeing you all there in December.

Thank you,
Jim Hooten
