It’s been a tough couple weeks for the Region. Art making has taken a back seat as I have put energy into creating safety for my children and supporting friends and neighbors.

I’ve been doing a lot of observation, absorbing what has happened in our community. Seeing folks still under incredible strain who also have incredible resolve. I’m noticing moments of calm in the chaos.

I am incredibly grateful to the community groups, first responders and all of the lineman who are helping us move closer to normal. We will get there.. together.

I was incredibly honored to win the Leslie Denmark Memorial award at the “My America” Salon Show. Feeling so much gratitude for South Shore Arts ongoing support of the art community. I also have the best fan club!

It’s been a wild summer weather-wise, but I finally got out to do some plein air painting.

It was an art-filled weekend! From Dawn Diamantopoulos and Kerri Mommer ‘s gorgeous show “The Path” at the Gardner Center, to the printmaking opening “Transfers” at Union St Gallery, to the Works in Progress critique group, to watercolor studies at home.

Incl some of my talented friends Alejandra Mosqueda, Maya, William, Juan Carlos, Bobbie Burns, James Kenneth Hughes and Grace Krupchak - I’m grateful for our community!

Painting from life is such an important part of my process. Observing the landscape feels like a conversation, a visual experience of a place and time.

Join me Thurs July 16th 6-8pm at the opening of A Brush with Nature in the South Shore Arts Atrium Gallery. I’ll also be discussing my painting in the Salon Show along with other incredibly talented participating artists.
