Small fun fact about me… in addition to glass, I love painting for fun! But I have to admit, sometimes my creative juices are all tapped out. I’ve been a subscriber of the Green Velvet Creative Co Box for quite a while now. I love that supplies and a little guidance are provided in each box, but there’s plenty of room left for my own creativity to shine. The anticipation each month wondering what the next box will bring is so exciting! And Connie is always there if I have questions about using the paints or other supplies. Finally, I get to belong to a great online community of fellow subscribers to share our creations and be inspired by others. 💚

Art Mart is building a classroom!

The day is finally here and I can tell you all - Art Mart is building a classroom! We are expanding our store to include a dedicated classroom and will be starting the buildout in the next few weeks. This classroom will be a space to host art classes, workshops, visiting artists, and community events - designed to support artists of all ages and skill levels.

To make this space truly great, we've launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of renovations, furniture, lighting, and shared classroom materials. Our current goal is $20,000 and every contribution makes a difference - whether it's a few dollars or simply sharing the campaign.

We're also looking for teachers! Do you have a passion for art and a desire to share it with others? We're accepting class proposals from artists, makers, and educators who want to teach in our new space. Whether you want to teach a classic medium like watercolor and colored pencils, or a unique and trendy craft tutorial, we'd love to hear from you!

There are so many small businesses right now that are closed and going to struggle this month. Please choose small for February.

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to support a small business.

I know several buildings along the Walnut strip are closed for the entire week due to the weather. We’re taking things day-by-day, just like so many others.

Walmart won’t notice your $15 purchase — but the small businesses downtown absolutely will.
