Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 9 for Orchestra Indiana’s season finale concert, In Search of Destiny. Your presence helped make the evening truly special.
We are deeply grateful to the Taylor University Chorale under the direction of Dr. Reed Spencer, mezzo-soprano Dr. Loralee Songer, and all of our musicians for bringing such artistry and energy to the performance. Under the leadership of Artistic Director & Principal Conductor Yaniv Segal, the program came to life in a powerful and memorable way.

Special thanks as well to the Community Foundation of Grant County, Indiana, Inc. for their generous support of this concert and for helping make this event possible for our community.

Orchestra Indiana/Marion Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to a special concert on May 9 at 7:30 PM in the Euler Atrium at Taylor University.

We are thrilled to feature guest artist Dr. Loralee Songer, an accomplished mezzo-soprano, conductor, and celebrated recitalist. A passionate advocate for art song, she has collaborated with renowned composers and coaches such as Jake Heggie, Libby Larsen, and William Bolcom.

Dr. Songer has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, and her work has been recognized by major publications like the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times. She is also the winner of The American Prize and continues to inspire audiences through her artistry and leadership.

On May 9 at 7:30 pm, Euler Science Atrium at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra presented by Orchestra Indiana presents a powerful and inspiring program exploring fate, hope, and the human spirit.

Featuring:
🎤 Guest soprano Loralee Songer
🎶 Taylor University Chorale, directed by Dr. Reed Spencer

Music Director Yaniv Segal opens with his immersive work “…the light that breathes…”, followed by choral masterworks of Johannes Brahms and Ralph Vaughan Williams, including Toward the Unknown Region. The evening concludes with the shimmering beauty of Claude Debussy.

We are excited to announce a special guest for our upcoming In Search of Magic concerts on Saturday, March 14 at 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm at Muncie Central High School.

Joining us as narrator for the evening is Dr. Chuck Reynolds, Director of Public Education/CEO of Muncie Community Schools. Dr. Reynolds has long been a passionate supporter of education and the performing arts in our community.

Throughout his career, he has championed opportunities for students to experience music, theatre, and the arts as an essential part of a well-rounded education.

Dr. Reynolds’s enthusiasm for the arts and his commitment to the students and families of Muncie make him a wonderful addition to this magical evening of music. As narrator, he will help guide audiences through our program featuring the beloved music of Harry Potter.
