Air Power Over the IAC UPDATE 8/7/2024
I am so excited about this year’s event and am looking forward to seeing each of you! I hope you have made plans to attend. You can find the event page which has information and registration at www.rcairpower.com. We still have tent space available as of this date!
First, I wanted to let you know that two more sponsors have joined in on the fun. Along with Balsa USA and Gator RC, I am proud to announce that National Balsa and Micro Fasteners are onboard for the event. National Balsa and Micro Fasteners will be attending the event and will have booths set up on the flightline with products to sell! They are both sponsoring the event by providing items for our raffle this year! Micro Fasteners will be providing several items (yet to be announced) and National Balsa will be providing the following kits for the raffle:
Hostetler Pitts 35% S1-11B Full Kit ($520.80 value)
Hostetler Gee Bee R2 25% Full Kit ($514.80 value)
Ziroli Turbinator Sport Jet Full Kit ( 639.00 value)
So, plan on visiting with them while you are here.
Next, I wanted to announce that we will be having a Dawn Patrol on Friday and Saturday morning at 7:00AM. That is the earliest time I can get approval for engine start and flying on the AMA property! So, plan on getting up early and flying your WWI aircraft. We will have Coffee and Donuts for all the Dawn Patrol Pilots!
We have secured several food trucks for our event this year, so please come prepared to support them! They will be providing a good selection of food items and drinks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is important to support them, as they need to make money so that they will come back next year! Please support them.
Mike Barbee supplied the concrete to complete the floors on the two large pilot pavilions, so if you have reserved pavilion space, you will appreciate this new amenity! Only one has been fully completed, but the maintenance team at AMA has constructed some new mobile buildings that will be put over the second pavilion space, so it will be fantastic as well. All pavilions will have electricity as well so you can charge models without using a generator! We will still have the 40 x 60 storage tent for your models, but if you are in a tent or pavilion, you can leave your models there if you want. The campsite is already full, so security for your models will not be a problem.
Finally, we will streamline the registration and safety briefings so you can focus on flying and having fun! I will be on site starting on Monday afternoon.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me by email at [email protected] or by phone at 912-242-2407. It’s gonna be FUN!
